Imagine a community designed to be as naturally beautiful and eco-friendly as possible. Skyline is just that – a new home community in Santa Clarita that supports an energy-efficient, earth-smart and healthy way of living. It’s all thanks to LivingSmart®, a ground-breaking approach to planning, development, design and construction that creates homes and communities that are more sustainable, higher quality, and are water-, energy- and earth-friendly.

Skyline’s homes and amenity centers use the latest in green building practices, including solar energy and engineered wood products that resist warping, splitting and shrinking while also preserving our forests. Even our community road base uses recycled materials; it contains rocks from the land excavated during construction, which also helps maintain the naturally rich terrain. It’s easy being green at Skyline.

Energy efficiency is a pillar of our LivingSmart program, with energy-saving features built into every part of Skyline, including our action-packed amenity center, The Lookout. From the sustainable building materials to solar energy use, Skyline supports the environment everywhere possible.

Skyline also is extremely water-efficient. For improved water drainage, community walking paths contain permeable materials to reduce runoff and help get water into the ground. There is no overhead spray used for any watering, including the front yards of Skyline homes, which all come with water-smart landscaping as well.

For even more water efficiency, Skyline incorporates a unique irrigation system with drip and point irrigation to use water smartly. This is something you won’t see in many master-planned communities. It’s just one more way Skyline helps you feel good about where you live.

Skyline uses a mix of native and drought-tolerant plants to create a stunning, natural community. Any native plants removed during grading were replanted throughout the rest of the community. To let each plant take deep roots into the land, more water is initially provided. They’re slowly weaned down until they’re ready for the natural rain patterns of the Santa Clarita Valley.

Not only is Skyline earth-friendly, it’s also a healthy place to live. It’s never been easier to get outside and enjoy an active lifestyle, with community walking paths and three-quarters of the land dedicated to natural open space. It’s all yours to hike along and explore every day.
